It’s A Dundeelhas finally returned to the winners circle in what may be his final race after claiming victory in the $4million Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes for 2014 at Royal Randwick.

It’s A Dundeel ran down Carlton House in the straight after the Queen’s horse led the field at a brisk pace in the 2000m race. Doncaster Mile champion Sacred Falls charged late to claim second while a brave Carlton House held on for third ahead of Silent Achiever.

The race was preceded by drama for the High Chaparral four-year-old after he slipped in the saddling stalls and sustained some lacerations, but was ultimately passed fit to race in the feature event of the day and showed no ill effect of the incident.

If today was indeed It’s A Dundeel’s final race he finishes his stellar career of 19 starts with 10 wins, 5 minor placings, 6 Group 1 victories and over $5million in prize money.
